La trama ruota intorno a una giovane donna affetta da amnesia, Bai She, che un giorno viene salvata da un cacciatore di serpenti del villaggio vicino. Così Xuan - questo il nome del ragazzo - vedendo che la fanciulla non ricorda nulla, decide di accompagnarla in un viaggio alla scoperta della sua vera identità. I due si innamorano, ma Bai She apprende di essere un potente demone serpente e la loro promessa di amore eterno rischia di venire meno.
